About Wendy Herkert RN......

A life long animal lover, Wendy grew up with many pets and 4H projects. When it came time to pick a college, she majored in Animal Science/Dairy Science at the University of Vermont and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture.

Through some strange twists of fate, Wendy enrolled in Fairleigh Dickenson University's Accelerated Nursing Program  (it was the late 80's and there was a terrible shortage of nurses) and graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Wendy has spent most of her nursing career in the critical care areas of hospitals, split between cardiac care and open heart recovery. Since moving to Upstate New York, she ran a local outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program in the Mohawk Valley for several years. Wendy now works as a home care nurse in Fulton and Montgomery counties.

Never having lost her love for animals both large and small, it was a special dog that first introduced Wendy to Reiki. While seeking ways to help keep her aging dog comfortable and breathing easily, Wendy found that Chance responded very well to Reiki treatments, both in person and at a distance. After Chance passed on, Wendy began her Reiki training.
